The beach between Noosa and Double Island Point on Queensland's Sunshine Coast is a haven for flocks of Waders, Gulls, and Terns despite being a highway for 4x4's. I'm usually an annoying passenger wanting to stop and photograph every bird, but the sight of flocks reflected in the wet sand is too good to pass up.

Here a small group of Crested Terns passes the time waiting for low tide by grooming and seemingly enjoying the Pacific views in a very pacific manner

Shit Jacquie! You couldn't have picked a nicer compliment! Ray is my favourite painter and has become a friend and mentor in the last decade or so. We have regular lengthy chats on the phone, (although it's been quite a while). Mostly I just listen though as Ray is one of the most amazing people I've ever met an has forgotten more about art than I'll ever know! I've begged him to get a computer so I can email him but he absolutely refuses. I offered to build him a website but he just doesn't want to know!

I must call him again soon, thanks for the reminder and the very kind words. I'm gonna go look at your work now so watch out!!!

he is an absolutly amazing artists, and amazing how you are in contact with him plus having him mentor you. Id love an artist like himself to help me further my art by tutor tho i guess its hard to find someone of such skill and willingness to teach someone as young as myself properly, so far at the uni that i take classes at i dont get treated an adult and no critique or advice given at all which is quite a shame.
id love for you to look at my art, and any crit if possible would be nice (tho on my more recent artworks since the older ones are quite dodgy), and im glad you liked the compliment, it really does look like Ray's style of work

Better late than never! It was going to be a pencil drawing on a piece of tinted board I had (I was sick and couldn't paint at the easel). It was simply going to be heightened with a little White gouache, but I ended up breaking out the watercolours (W&N), and painting it.
